SAE provides a great all-weather low-voltage, medium current connector.  SAE connectors provide a secure connection. Using both a male and female terminal for source and outlet.  Wire your accessory cable and your power source cables correctly.  You should have a tested when building connections.

When hooking into a power source.  ie Battery or Solar Panel.  The positive (red) terminal should be shrouded.  This will keep from electrical arcing if it comes in contact with grounded metal.
